We are well known for producing Lavender Oil on site here at Castle Farm… but did you know we produce FOUR different Lavender Oils?! Each has different properties and uses.
1. Premium Lavender Oil
Here is a little more information about our ‘creme de la creme’ of Lavender Oils – our Premium Maillette Lavender Oil.
It is an elite single-origin Lavender Oil (this means it comes from just one plant variety) – luxuriously delicate with exceptional fragrance notes for aromatherapy. Quite simply, the best Lavender Oil you can buy.
This oil is extracted from our beautifully scented ‘Maillette’ Lavender flowers – and the oil bottled is taken only in the first 20 minutes of distillation – the time at which the oil is at its purest and most elite. For all the aromatherapists, this oil has all the characteristics of a ‘high altitude Lavender Oil’.
How to use?
You can use this oil just like any other Lavender Oil. It still holds exceptional antiseptic and antibacterial properties, but its fragrance is more delicate and luxurious.

2. Castle Farm Lavender Oil
Our all-round best seller. A high-grade, sweet, gentle Lavender essential oil with antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and mild anesthetic properties. Made from Lavandula Angustifolia, grown and distilled on Castle Farm.
Widely used in aromatherapy, perfumery and medicine.
The pure oil works beautifully in an oil burner or in an ultrasonic diffuser like these Sanatio Natralis ones – which are available online too.

3. Lavandin Oil
This oil comes from a plant which looks very similar to Lavender… but has a much stronger scent and camphorous profile. This makes it a STIMULANT as opposed to a relaxant! So don’t get confused!
Our Lavandin Oil is extracted from our ‘Grosso’ variety, distilled on Castle Farm. Did you know – Lavandin is 90% of what is grown in the famous Lavender fields of Provence.
Sometimes people are sold Lavandin, when they think they are buying Lavender… often packaging doesn’t declare the difference. We always declare the difference in our products.
Lavandin Oil has been traditionally used throughout history for:
- concentration & clear thinking
- inhaling to clear a stuffy nose or a drowsy head
- room fragrancing
- oil burners or candles
- deterring moths
- repelling insects & mosquitos
- sprinkling inside smelly shoes
4. Lavender & Hop Sleep Oil
Uniquely developed at Castle Farm using Kentish Lavender & Hops… breathe this Sleepy Scent fragrance in to relax and encourage a peaceful sleep.
You can put a couple of drops of this calming scent on a handkerchief by your pillow to inhale as you drift off to sleep.
Lavender oil helps in relaxation and has been considered as a remedy for stress for centuries, so combined with the soporific qualities of hops, this Sleep Oil can be a powerful natural sleep aid.
