As the summer sun begins to mellow, we’ve reached the close of another spectacular Lavender season here at Castle Farm. Our fields are now being harvested, and what a season it’s been!

A heartfelt thank you to every single visitor who joined us this year — from picnicking among the purple blooms to exploring our farm shop and capturing the magic on camera, your support and enthusiasm bring our fields to life. We hope you all enjoyed your visits - and hope to welcome you again for other seasonal delights such as Sunflowers in mid August and PYO Apples from September, not to mention pumpkins  later in the Autumn. 

We thought you might enjoy a peek behind the scenes to see how the lavender crop is harvested — a truly magical and carefully timed process. In the video below, you’ll see our team working together to cut and gather the fragrant rows, as the air fills with the sweet scent of lavender. This essential crop is carefully distilled on-site into our soothing & calming lavender oils, used in everything from wellness products to culinary creations.

Our year-round work in these fields contributes to this final moment — when the specially adapted harvester takes to the rows, and the calming oils begin their journey from field to bottle.
