The Journey from Field to Bottle – in Under Two Hours
During the summer harvest, timing is everything. We cut our lavender at the peak of its bloom, when the essential oil content is at its highest. From the moment the stems are harvested, the clock is ticking – the fresher the plant material, the purer the oil.
That’s why our distillery is right here on the farm. Within two hours of being cut, the lavender is loaded into our steam distillers. The heat from the steam releases the essential oil from the flower heads, which then condenses and is carefully separated from the floral water. This swift, on-site process preserves the plant’s full aromatic profile – resulting in an oil that’s rich, clean, and true to the scent of the fields it came from.
Traceability
Because we handle every stage of the process here at Castle Farm – from planting the tiny cuttings to distilling the final drop of oil – every batch is 100% traceable.
