What is the Castle Farm Guided Lavender Tour?

Set in the heart of the Darenth Valley in West Kent, Castle Farm's Guided Lavender Tour takes you on a 1 hour 15 minute behind-the-scenes journey through one of Kent's most spectacular summer landscapes.

Led by one of our knowledgeable team, you'll explore our 110+ acres of lavender fields, discover the different varieties we grow, and learn what it really takes to farm lavender at scale. The Tour includes a  visit to our on-site distillery, where the precious lavender essential oil is extracted within hours of the crop being harvested — a process you won't see anywhere else in the UK.

It's a genuine insight into life on a working Kent farm, wrapped in the most beautiful purple scenery you'll find this side of Provence!

What's New for Lavender Season 2026?

This summer's Guided Lavender Tour comes with two brilliant upgrades — making it better than ever for families, dog owners, and lavender lovers alike.

1. Lavender Walks Field Access — Included in Every Ticket

Every Guided Tour ticket now includes access to our Lavender Walks field after your tour. Stroll through our Folgate Lavender and late-flowering Lavandin fields at your own pace, take in the sweeping views across the Darenth Valley, and don't miss a photo on the famous Castle Farm Lavender Bench.

It's the perfect way to extend your visit and truly soak up the season.

2. Dogs on Leads Now Welcome

Planning a dog friendly day out in Kent this summer? We've got great news. Well-behaved dogs on leads are now welcome to join the Guided Lavender Tour — meaning the whole family, furry members included, can enjoy the full experience together. Please ensure you dog is well behaved, and kept on a short lead.

Castle Farm has always been a dog friendly destination, and we're delighted to extend that welcome to one of our most popular summer events.

Why Visit Castle Farm This Summer?

Castle Farm is the UK's largest lavender farm, nestled in the beautiful Darent Valley near Sevenoaks in Kent. A fifth-generation family farm, we've been growing lavender here since 1998 and distilling our own essential oils on site ever since.

During lavender season — typically mid-June to late July — the fields explode into colour, drawing visitors from across London, the South East, and beyond. It's one of Kent's most photographed landscapes, and genuinely one of the most breathtaking things to see in the county during summer.
