      Private Group Lavender Tours

      Go behind the scenes of Castle Farm and learn all about Lavender! Join a Castle Farm Guide on a Private Group Tour as they take you into two Lavender fields to learn about the history of the farm, the different types of lavender, how it is grown harvested and distilled at Castle Farm.

      You will then take a stroll over to the steam distillery where you can see how the essential oil is extracted from the plants, and learn about the harvesting process. While enjoying a light refreshment (Lavender Shortbread and apple juice), you will learn all about how Lavender can be used at home. 
       
      Group Tour Details
       
      Pre-booked group tours start at 10.45am and last approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. The distance covered is just under 0.5 mile on flat but sometimes uneven ground. Seating and shelter from the elements is available at stopping points in the fields and distillery. 
      • Sorry, no commercial photography or drones
      • Unfortunately we cannot allow non-service dogs on guided tours.
      • Suitable for wheelchairs, and buggies, but please note the entrance to the field is on uneven ground.
      • Toilet facilities are available on the farm near the farm shop
      • This is an all-weather event, there is cover in the field to provide shelter / shade, but you may need an anorak / umbrella if raining for the walk through the farm to the distillery.
      • Please note, bees will be present in the Lavender, so take extra care.

      Booking Information

      The price of the private group lavender tour in 2023 is £12.60 per person (with minimum of £150 per group booking) and includes some of our own apple juice and lavender shortbread. 2024 prices will be set in February '24. 

      Dates: Tuesday 25th June - Thursday 25th July '24 (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays).

      We would recommend that organisers allow up to two and a half hours in their schedule to fully appreciate a visit without rushing as there is a little bit of walking between the tour start point and coach parking also allowing time to browse the rest of the site, including our farm shop and lavender barn.
